We've all heard it before, Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. While that has SOME truth, it's not the whole story.
The MOST IMPORTANT meal of the day is POST WORKOUT. What you consume post workout is pretty damn important & can make quite the difference in your fitness goals & even overall health.
Lets break down my go-to for my post workout shake. Core nutritionals POST!
In a tub of core post you'll be getting 20 servings of the right amount of carbs, protein & more in your shake.
Macros per 2 scoops (reccomended serving)
Fat: 0.5G/ Carbohydrates: 36g/ Protein 24g.
PROTEIN: The source of protein is an easily fast digestable (lactose free) Cold-Processed Microfiltered Whey Protein Isolate. Note the "cold-processed" put first. Long story short heat damages protein! Cold-Processed is typically made with great care to reduce the exposure to harshly high temperatures that can either denature, alter or potentially render non-bioavailable protein nutrients
Carbohydrates: One of the more underrated nutrients in a post workout regimen is carbs! Core Post contains 36g of carbs with 21g of those coming from sugars. There is TWO sources of carbs in this blend which is dextrose which has very rapid absorption & very rapid insulin spike which will help blunt cortisol. Cortisol is the stress hormone that gets released when you're training. Dextrose will also help replenish muscle glycogen, giving your muscles more energy to be prepared for the rest of the day and fueled for your next workout.
Highly Branched Cyclic Dextrin (Cluster Dextrin®) is the second carb source in Core Post. You won't get the same insulin spike as you do from dextrose BUT it rapidly clears the gut making it easy on the stomach and it rapidly absorbed.
Core Post is much more than JUST macronutrients. It contains some "extra goodies" what I like to call it, lets dive into those;
-Fermented Vegan L-Leucine- 5g. Massive dose of a critical amino acids in activating the Mtor pathway to muscle protein synthesis, which will help in recovery, muscle gain etc...
-Amylopectin Chromium Complex (Velostil®) 2g- Velositol has been shown it significantly increases muscle protein synthesis when combined with a protein.
-VitaCherry® Sport (Montmorecy Tart Cherry) 480mg- A strong antioxidant that helps with the inflammatory response. It'll help with muscle soreness & muscle recovery. Overall a pretty awesome recovery ingredient.
-Black Pepper Extract (BioPerine®) 10mg- This just simply helps the absorption of all of these ingredients and bioavailbiltity of them as well.
